KONTRAKLANG präsentiert die zweite Ausgabe des Formats Movie Night im Kino Moviemento in Kreuzberg. Im Programm sind Filme und Videoarbeiten von Komponist*innen und Sound Artists, die sich in verschiedenster Weise mit dem Medium Film auseinandersetzen. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf Arbeiten der letzten sechs Jahre, mit Dresden Dynamo von Lis Rhodes ist aber auch ein Klassiker des Genres von 1971 mit dabei. Thematische rote Fäden der Auswahl bilden etwa der Einfluss des Menschen auf den Klimawandel oder auch die Pandemie und damit einhergehende Erfahrungen von Lockdown und Isolation. So ist auch der von KONTRAKLANG in Auftrag gegebene Film The Cosmic Music of Teiji Ito (2021) von Michiko Ogawa & Manuel Pessoa de Lima erstmals auf der großen Leinwand zu erleben.
Zum ersten Mal überhaupt gezeigt wird außerdem das Musikvideo Veitstanz von Martin Grütter & Aron Kitzig (2020/22). Im Anschluss an das Filmprogramm findet in Kooperation dem Produzenten des Werks, der Schwelbrand Virtual Edition, eine Premierenfeier im Foyer statt.
KONTRAKLANG presents the second edition of the format Movie Night at the Moviemento cinema in Kreuzberg. The program includes films and video works by composers and sound artists who deal with the medium of film in various ways. The focus is on works from the last six years, but with Dresden Dynamo by Lis Rhodes a classic of the genre from 1971 is also included. The thematic threads of the selection are, for example, the influence of man on climate change, or the pandemic and the associated experiences of lockdown and isolation. The film The Cosmic Music of Teiji Ito (2021) by Michiko Ogawa & Manuel Pessoa de Lima, commissioned by KONTRAKLANG, will also be shown on the big screen for the first time.
The music video Veitstanz by Martin Grütter & Aron Kitzig (2020/22) will also be shown for the first time ever. Following the film program, a premiere party will take place in the foyer in cooperation with the producer of the work, Schwelbrand Virtual Edition.
